Canon and HEIDELBERG Announce Global Co-operation in Sheetfed Inkjet Printing
Canon and Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (HEIDELBERG) have announced a global partnership to advance inkjet printing. The collaboration will support commercial print businesses transitioning to hybrid offset/digital production, enhancing their ability to handle diverse, shorter print runs.
HEIDELBERG will introduce a new inkjet product family based on the Canon B2 and B3 sheetfed inkjet presses, integrated into the HEIDELBERG Prinect workflow. Service and Saphira Ink will be provided by HEIDELBERG.
Canon's Akira Yoshida highlighted the investment in inkjet technology and envisioned a transformative collaboration. HEIDELBERG's Dr. David Schmedding emphasized the integrated service and product portfolio this partnership offers.
The new inkjet portfolio will be showcased at drupa 2024. The Canon B2 sheetfed press will be available in Q4 2025.
