Canyon GBS Secures $12.9 Million for AI-Powered Student Success App Expansion
Canyon GBS has announced securing $12.9 million in new funding aimed at enhancing its Advising App with advanced AI features to boost student success. This initiative, supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, will occur over three years from 2025 to 2027. The funding will allow for the expansion of the Advising App SaaS solution, introducing self-service tools for students and resources for institutions.
The Advising App, launched in October 2023, already includes modules for student engagement, an AI-driven advisor, and admissions management. The new funding will enhance these offerings by creating a self-service portal and mobile app while extending current capabilities. This effort focuses on delivering affordable and innovative technology, particularly benefiting underserved institutions and their students.
Institutions like Joliet Junior College and Baker College are current adopters, with the app also supporting the Elements Engagement platform by Thesis.
