Cerrado Gold's Latest Tests Support High Purity Iron Production at Mont Sorcier
Cerrado Gold Inc. has announced favorable results from recent metallurgical tests, confirming the production capability of 67% High Purity Direct Reduction Iron (DRI) grade concentrates at its Mont Sorcier project in Quebec. These tests highlight a silica and alumina content of below 2.5%, aligning with the global demand projected to grow at over 9% annually for the next decade.
The project exhibits enhanced economic recovery rates, achieving an 83% magnetite iron recovery. Continuing tests focus on determining equipment sizing, with a feasibility study set for completion in Q1 2026. Conducted by Soutex Inc. and SGS Canada, the tests aim to refine the flow sheet design, considering a significant emphasis on reducing steel production emissions.
The Mont Sorcier project's ability to produce High Purity concentrates positions it strategically within the industry's shift toward "Green Steel." This aligns with the Quebec Government's objectives for critical mineral development, aiding in decreased global emissions. The ongoing demand for high-grade products reflects the potential for substantial market advantages.
