CGFNS International Announces First Global Credential for Rehab Nurses
CGFNS International has launched the Certified Global Nurse - Rehabilitation (CGN-R), a global credential for registered nurses in rehabilitation, habilitation, or restorative care. This initiative aims to improve services for over two billion individuals requiring such care worldwide.
The CGN-R credential was developed with input from a global task force of over 60 experts from 17 countries. It aligns with the Rehabilitation Competency Framework from the World Health Organization. This certification allows nurses to demonstrate their competencies to employers globally and improves job mobility.
Registration for the CGN-R exam opens in July, with tests scheduled for November. Eligible applicants are registered nurses with at least two years of experience in rehabilitation care. Detailed information and a handbook are available on the CGFNS website.
The CGFNS also offers an early adopter program for institutions to certify their nursing workforce. More credentials for other health workers in rehabilitation settings are expected soon.
