China Unicom and GSMA Launch Open Gateway Innovation Challenge
On November 20th, 2024, at the Wuzhen World Internet Conference, the "Open Gateway Global Use Case Innovation Challenge" was launched jointly by the GSMA and China Unicom. The competition seeks to connect network capability demand and promote the GSMA Open Gateway initiative. Key figures such as Sihan Bo Chen, John Hoffman, and Wang Limin marked the launch.
Ye Xiaoyu from China Unicom highlighted that companies, research institutions, and developers worldwide are invited to participate. The challenge aims to foster industrial innovation and implement the Open Gateway Initiative on a global scale.
The event included notable figures like Henry Calvert, along with representatives from companies such as Huawei and Nokia Shanghai Bell. These participants explored the latest innovations at the GSMA exhibition booth.
The competition, starting November 20th, will move through preliminary rounds, with finals scheduled for March 3, 2025, at the MWC Barcelona. It aims to advance the GSMA Open Gateway initiative and global communication innovation.
