City of Jal Partners With Sustainability Partners to Implement Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)
The City of Jal, New Mexico, has launched its Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Project in collaboration with Sustainability Partners. Over the next three months, Jal plans to replace about 1,000 water meters with Kamstrup ultrasonic meters that remotely transmit near real-time water usage data. This initiative aims to help Jal meet its water conservation objectives.
Jal Mayor, Stephen Aldridge, emphasized the city's dedication to sustainable water management, describing the AMI implementation as a "leap towards ensuring sustainable water management in Jal." The project upgrades Jal's outdated system with a comprehensive AMI solution that includes hardware, software, communication tools, and customer displays.
Sustainability Partners is working with Resource Wise and L&T Services to install and integrate the new AMI system. Ryan Mast, lead Infrastructure Partner in New Mexico, stated the partnership with Jal offers significant benefits for both residents and the environment through enhanced water conservation.
