CMSI Partners Launch Final Public Consultation for New Mining Standard

The Consolidated Mining Standard Initiative (CMSI) partners, including The Copper Mark, ICMM, Mining Association of Canada (MAC), and World Gold Council, announced the launch of the final public consultation for the Consolidated Mining Standard. Running from October 8 to November 17, 2025, this initiative invites stakeholders to review and provide feedback on the Consolidated Standard, Assurance Process, and Claims Policy.

This new standard merges four existing mining standards into a single cohesive framework, aiming to simplify the current landscape and promote global adoption. During the consultation, stakeholders will participate in activities such as virtual webinars and direct briefings, ensuring a diverse input from across the mining value chain.

The final standard is expected to drive positive outcomes in mining operations and address environmental and social governance practices. Final approval and the launch of the standard are anticipated in the first half of 2026.
