Tamweely Microfinance Achieves Dual International Certifications in Egypt

Tamweely Microfinance, a prominent Egyptian microfinance institution, has been recognized as the first in Egypt to earn the AML 30000 and MSI 20000 international certifications. These accolades, awarded by the French certification body COFICERT, affirm Tamweely's commitment to fighting financial crime and maintaining strong financial governance.

CEO Ahmed Khorched highlighted the significance of these certifications in strengthening Tamweely’s role within the non-banking financial services sector. The AML 30000 certification addresses issues such as money laundering and terrorist financing, while MSI 20000 focuses on financial soundness and performance.

The certifications reflect Tamweely's adherence to international best practices, with the Egyptian Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) playing a pivotal role in the certification process. Acknowledgements were also made to employees for their collective effort in this achievement.
