ESR and Colt DCS Launch Joint Venture for Osaka Data Centre

ESR, an Asia-Pacific real asset manager, and Colt Data Centre Services (Colt DCS), a global data centre provider, have announced a joint venture to develop a 130 MW1 hyperscale data centre site in Minoh City, Osaka, Japan. The venture will begin with a 65 MW1 phase, designed and built collaboratively, and operated by Colt DCS.

This site aims to support Japan's growing cloud adoption and AI solutions from 2029. Site preparation is underway, with construction set to start in 2027. This development leverages Colt DCS's operational excellence and ESR’s development expertise, marking a significant step in the region’s digital growth.

The project includes a focus on ESG and urban regeneration, featuring improved infrastructure and community amenities like schools and parks. The venture seeks to achieve LEED Gold certification as part of its sustainability goals.
