Compagnie des Alpes Q3 2023/2024 Financial Update

Stock price chart of COMPAGNIE DES ALPES (EPA:CDA) showing fluctuations.

Compagnie des Alpes has reported a 9.2% increase in consolidated sales for the first nine months of the 2023/24 financial year, totaling €975.7 million. This growth was attributed to a strong winter season in the Ski Areas.

The third quarter saw sales remain stable at €214.6 million, slightly below the €215.2 million of the same period last year. Poor weather conditions and the positioning of the Easter weekend impacted the Leisure Parks sector, which accounted for three-quarters of Q3 sales.

The Ski Areas & Outdoor Activities division experienced a 13.2% increase in sales, reaching €542.4 million, with a notable rise in skier-days and average revenue per skier-day.

The Distribution & Hospitality division saw sales grow by 4.3% to €104.8 million, driven by strong performances from MMV and real estate agencies, despite challenges for the Travelfactory tour operator.

Leisure Parks faced difficulties in Q3 due to extreme weather and election weekends, but maintained strong sales, resulting in a 4.7% increase over nine months. New financing and the acquisition of the Urban group were key highlights for the company.
