ControlMonkey Promotes OpenTofu, the New Player in IaC, at its First User Conference in Europe
TEL AVIV, ISRAEL – On February 21, 2024, the first European conference dedicated to OpenTofu, the open-source Infrastructure as Code (IaC), brought together 100 DevOps professionals. Organized by ControlMonkey on AWS Floor 28, this event aimed to introduce OpenTofu into the IaC ecosystem and discuss its positioning against Terraform.
The birth of OpenTofu, following the licensing changes in Terraform by HashiCorp, marked a major turning point. Managed by the Linux Foundation, this community framework promises a serious alternative to existing solutions. The conference featured an in-depth analysis by Ori Yemini, CTO and Co-founder of ControlMonkey, on the criteria for choosing between OpenTofu and Terraform, as well as a panel of experts sharing their strategies for managing large-scale cloud environments.
ControlMonkey's support for OpenTofu was evident, aiming to encourage the adoption of this IaC solution by the local DevOps community. The presence of the founding members of OpenTofu underscored the growing interest in this new alternative in the world of infrastructure code.
