Tense Market Conditions Affect Bystronic's 2025 Performance
Bystronic, a leader in sheet metal processing technology, has reported stable order intake figures but faced challenges due to a tense market environment in 2025. The order intake for the first nine months reached CHF 468 million, reflecting a modest increase of 3.2% at constant exchange rates. However, sales decreased by 8.7% to CHF 446 million, influenced by delayed deliveries and project completions. Regions such as EMEA and APAC showed no notable recovery, while the Americas and China experienced slowed momentum due to ongoing tariff discussions.
Despite the lack of economic improvement and challenges posed by US tariffs introduced in August, Bystronic maintains its outlook for slightly lower annual sales and an improved operating result. The company is focused on regaining customer confidence through targeted measures, particularly in their Division Service. The tube laser business and DNE have performed well, contributing to the overall order intake.
