Wilfried de Backer Appointed Bystronic Chief Service Officer
Zurich, September 30, 2025 – Bystronic has announced that Wilfried de Backer will step into the role of Chief Service Officer, effective October 1, 2025. He will report directly to CEO Domenico Iacovelli and will be a part of the Executive Board. De Backer takes over from Eamon Doherty, who departed the company earlier in September.
De Backer brings a wealth of experience from his previous role as Senior Vice President of After Sales Operations at Rieter AG. His past positions also include General Manager of Spare Parts Delivery for General Electric Service in Switzerland and Director of Manufacturing Operations for Alstrom Power in the USA.
CEO Domenico Iacovelli expressed confidence in De Backer's abilities, citing his expertise in enhancing operational efficiency and customer service as key assets for Bystronic’s growth and customer satisfaction.
