CoTec Announces Milestone in Recycled Rare Earth Production in UK
CoTec Holdings Corp. announced a significant achievement in recycled rare earth alloy production. Mkango Resources Ltd. and HyProMag Limited have initiated the first commercial-scale production of recycled neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) alloy at Birmingham's Tyseley Energy Park using Hydrogen Processing of Magnet Scrap (HPMS) technology. This marks a critical milestone for the UK and global rare earth supply chains.
Julian Treger, CEO of CoTec, praised the milestone, underscoring its importance in validating HPMS technology at scale. The success at Tyseley lays the groundwork for CoTec's joint venture, HyProMag USA, which progresses towards establishing a domestic rare earth supply chain in North America.
HyProMag USA, a joint venture between CoTec and HyProMag, is on track to develop a rare earth magnet recycling facility in Dallas-Fort Worth, aiming for a launch in 2027.
