Covation Biomaterials Unveils CovationBio® bioPTMEG at K-Show 2025
Covation Biomaterials LLC has showcased its latest innovation, CovationBio® bioPTMEG, at the K 2025 trade fair in Düsseldorf. This advanced, sustainable polytetramethylene ether glycol (PTMEG) offers significant emission reductions compared to fossil-based alternatives. Announced earlier at ChinaPlas 2025, this product aligns with the global shift towards eco-friendly materials. CovationBio® bioPTMEG promises high performance for applications such as spandex and thermoplastic elastomers.
The product is 100% bio-based, derived from annually renewable resources like corncobs. It contributes to reduced reliance on non-renewable materials. Covation aims to begin commercial production in Jiangsu Province by mid-2026, integrating bioPTMEG into materials such as TPU and PU. The initiative supports sustainability efforts in the plastics sector, echoing the K Show's theme of "Green – Smart – Responsible."
