Cyan AG and wefox Austria Unveil New Mobile App for Cyber and Insurance Protection

Munich, 14 August 2024 – cyan AG and wefox Austria have launched "weprotect," a mobile app aimed at providing integrated cyber and insurance protection. Collaborating with Allianz Partners, this initiative addresses the rising number of cyberattacks in Austria.

According to a 2023 KPMG study, cyberattacks in Austria surged by 201%, with phishing being the main threat. The weprotect app, developed by cyan AG, detects real-time cyber threats, drastically reducing risks. Meanwhile, Allianz Partners provides insurance for online banking, shopping, and protection against phishing, identity theft, and data loss.

Markus Cserna, CTO of cyan AG, emphasizes the importance of early intervention to mitigate risks, while Rene Besenbäck, Managing Director of wefox Austria, highlights state-of-the-art security combined with insurance coverage for comprehensive protection.

The official launch date for weprotect is September 3, 2024, with distribution through wefox’s platform and connected brokers.
