Dalata Hotel Group Celebrates a Decade of Success at 2024 AGM

Dublin-based Dalata Hotel Group PLC, Ireland’s largest hotel operator and a growing force in the UK and Europe, held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on April 25, 2024. During the meeting, John Hennessy, the Chair of Dalata, highlighted the significant growth and milestones achieved since the company’s flotation on the stock market ten years ago.

Since its launch, Dalata has expanded from revenues of €60 million with €5 million in hotel assets to over €600 million in revenue and hotel assets valued at €1.7 billion in 2023. The group now manages 53 hotels across Ireland, the UK, and Continental Europe. 2023 was a record year for the group, marked by revenue growth, strong cash flow, and expansion into key cities like Amsterdam and London. Despite economic pressures, the company has maintained efficiency and reduced carbon emissions per room, all while receiving positive feedback from customers and employees.

For 2024, the initial performance in the UK shows promising modest growth with strong corporate demand in all regions. Dalata also expects an uplift from new and matured hotels and remains optimistic about its prospects for the year, driven by a robust events calendar and increasing travel activity. The rollout of refreshed Clayton and Maldron hotel brands reflects the group's commitment to growth and customer connection, with new openings planned in major UK cities. Hennessy reiterates the group's focus on expansion and sustainability in the face of future opportunities and challenges.
