Delignit AG Reports Revenue Drop Amid Automotive Sector Challenges
Blomberg, August 14, 2024 - Delignit AG, a leading manufacturer of ecological hardwood-based products, reported a half-year revenue of €36.7 million, a decline of 24% compared to the previous year. The company achieved an EBITDA margin of 6.4%, generating €2.3 million in EBITDA. These figures align with the company's annual guidance.
The revenue decline is attributed to the automotive market, particularly the caravan industry, which saw significant drops. Additionally, key contracts in the light commercial vehicle sector underperformed. Conversely, the Technological Applications market grew by 89%, though it only contributed 11% of total revenue.
The outlook for the second half remains cautiously positive, although major OEM customers have predicted a recovery. Early indicators suggest further slowdowns in both the caravan and commercial vehicle sectors. CEO Markus Büscher expressed cautious optimism, aiming to meet the year's financial targets of €75 to €80 million in revenue with 6-7% EBITDA profitability.
