Derichebourg and LG Energy Solution Form Battery Recycling Joint Venture

Derichebourg Group and LG Energy Solution have announced a strategic joint venture to recycle electric vehicle batteries, establishing a new plant in Bruyères-sur-Oise, France. The facility will recycle over 20,000 tons annually, utilizing cutting-edge technology within a circular economy framework. This venture aims to enhance the recycling sector and fortify industrial sovereignty over critical raw materials.
Set to begin construction in 2026, the plant will leverage Derichebourg's recycling expertise and LG Energy Solution's knowledge of the battery value chain. This collaboration is designed to secure cost-effective recycled battery materials and support the EU Battery Regulation, which mandates minimum recycled content levels for batteries by 2031.
The initiative complements the European Clean Industrial Deal, fostering material circularity and reducing reliance on primary raw materials. Local economic benefits include job creation and regional economic stimulation, aligning with the project’s sustainable and innovative ethos.
