DEUTZ Inks Cooperation with TAFE, India’s Leading Agricultural Group
Cologne, July 1, 2024 – DEUTZ has announced a new cooperation with TAFE Motors and Tractors Limited, aiming to expand its business in India. This collaboration aligns with DEUTZ’s Dual+ strategy, focusing on alternative drive systems and internal combustion engines. TAFE Motors, a subsidiary of the world's third-largest tractor manufacturer, will manufacture up to 30,000 DEUTZ engines annually. These engines, ranging from 50 to 100 hp, will support both the Indian market and DEUTZ’s global requirements.
The engines will be produced at TAFE Motors’ facility in Alwar, Rajasthan. This move allows DEUTZ to market its engines more effectively in neighboring markets, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. DEUTZ CEO, Dr. Sebastian C. Schulte, emphasized that the partnership will help the company access growing markets and maintain competitive production costs.
This cooperation also offers DEUTZ the advantage of a broader, more resilient supplier base. Additionally, it minimizes the impact of geopolitical tensions on supply chains. TAFE Motors CEO, Sandeep Sinha, noted that the partnership would be mutually beneficial, providing high-quality engines at competitive costs for both domestic and international markets.
Both companies are considering expanding their collaboration to include green drive technologies in the future.
