Dormakaba Expands in Airports Business with Innovations and Major Orders

dormakaba is enhancing its presence in the airports business sector through innovations and significant orders. Unique pilot projects for automated security checks are now in progress at various airports. Key projects have been successfully initiated with supply and maintenance of Argus Air eGates sensor gates at several airports, generating high single-digit million CHF in revenue for the financial year 2023/24.

In partnership with Rohde & Schwarz, dormakaba is developing new autonomous passenger screening solutions. These systems, currently tested in Las Vegas, could reduce the required security personnel by half. If successful, these innovations will be implemented globally by summer 2025, extending their use to critical infrastructure and prisons.

Demand in the airport sector remains robust, with successful implementations at airports like Changi, Western Sydney, Jeddah, Doha, Munich, Xianyang, and Copenhagen. The Argus Air eGates facilitate secure and efficient passenger processing in security-relevant areas.

To meet increasing demand from the Indian market, dormakaba has expanded its production center in Chennai by 400m2. This facility now covers 4,400m2 and employs around 60 people, focusing on the Argus Air Self-Boarding/Security & Lounge product line, with core components supplied by the Bühl center in Germany.
