Eagle Plains Commences Mount Polley West Field Program
Eagle Plains Resources Ltd. (TSXV:EPL) has announced the mobilization of crews to its Mount Polley West (MPW) gold-copper project. Spanning 9663 hectares, MPW is strategically positioned in south-central British Columbia, near Williams Lake and adjacent to notable mineral deposits such as Imperial Metals' Mount Polley Property and Osisko Development's QR Deposit. MPW is promising for porphyry copper-gold and epithermal gold deposits.
Key features of the project include favorable historical trenching data, excellent infrastructure, and multiple mineralized intrusions. These assets facilitate cost-effective exploration and are similar to the Mount Polley Intrusive Complex (MPIC). Early exploration activities have indicated significant copper mineralization, suggesting deeper porphyry copper sources. The project benefits from paved roads and proximity to a high-voltage powerline.
The 2024 fieldwork will focus on increasing till sampling density to identify bedrock mineral sources, aided by the promising results of 2023. TerraLogic Exploration will manage these efforts. This year’s findings will integrate with historical data to guide further exploration, potentially including advanced geophysical surveys and mechanical trenching.
Eagle Plains seeks to option the MPW Project and is actively engaging potential partners. The project forms a part of Eagle Plains’ ongoing commitment to bolster shareholder value through strategic partnerships and critical metal exploration across western Canada.
