EDF signs €6 billion credit facility focused on ESG indicators
On November 29, 2024, EDF entered into a €6 billion syndicated credit facility. This facility, with a renewable five-year term, is indexed to ESG indicators. EDF thus aims to strengthen its commitments to sustainable development. The indicators chosen include direct greenhouse gas emissions, avoided CO2 emissions and the proportion of women executives within the Group.
The new facility replaces the existing €5.5 billion credit lines. It was syndicated to 36 financial institutions. Bank of America, Crédit Agricole and Mizuho Bank coordinated the syndication. Crédit Agricole is managing the facility and Mizuho Bank is managing the documentation. MUFG and Société Générale are coordinating the ESG aspects.
This initiative reflects EDF's commitment to a fair energy transition and carbon neutrality by 2050.
