EDF Successfully Issues $1.9 Billion in Senior Bonds

EDF has announced the successful pricing of a senior bond issuance totaling $1.9 billion. The issuance, dated January 6, 2025, consists of three tranches. The first tranche includes a $700 million bond with a 10-year maturity and a fixed coupon rate of 5.750%. The second tranche is an $800 million bond with a 30-year maturity offering a 6.375% fixed coupon. The third tranche is an additional $400 million issue from a previous 40-year bond, initially issued on April 22, 2024, with a 6.000% fixed coupon.

This bond issuance supports EDF's strategic objective of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. The bonds will be settled and listed on the Euro MTF via the Luxembourg Stock Exchange starting January 13, 2025. The expected ratings for these bonds are BBB, Baa1, and BBB+ from S&P, Moody's, and Fitch, respectively.
