EDF successfully issues CAD 750 million in green bonds
EDF has successfully completed a multi-tranche senior green bond offering, raising CAD 750 million. The transaction, completed on January 30, 2025, is divided into two tranches: a first tranche of CAD 450 million over 10 years with a fixed rate of 4.573%, and a second tranche of CAD 300 million over 30 years with a fixed rate of 5.231%.
The funds raised will be dedicated to projects in line with EDF's Green Financing Framework, including extending the lifespan of nuclear power plants in France. This initiative is part of the company's strategy towards carbon neutrality by 2050.
The bonds are scheduled to settle on February 6, 2025, and have been assigned an anticipated rating of BBB/Baa1/BBB+. EDF remains a dynamic player in the debt securities market, continually monitoring financing opportunities.
