EDF Successfully Issues CAD 750 Million in Senior Bonds

EDF announced the successful pricing of its senior bond issuance totaling CAD 750 million. This multi-tranche bond was divided into two parts: one consisting of CAD 350 million with a 10-year maturity and a fixed coupon rate of 5.379%, and another of CAD 400 million with a 30-year maturity and a fixed coupon rate of 5.777%. The bond issue aims to strengthen the balance sheet structure and refinance upcoming maturities. Settlement and delivery of these bonds are expected on 17 May 2024, with an anticipated rating of BBB / Baa1 / BBB+ according to major rating agencies S&P, Moody's, and Fitch.

The bonds, termed as "CAD Bonds", were issued amidst a proactive approach by EDF in monitoring both national and international financial markets. This strategy assists the company in capitalizing on opportunities to issue senior debt, hybrids, and other securities as required.
