Eiffage Expands Offshore Energy Expertise with Acquisition

Eiffage, via its Belgian subsidiary Smulders, has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of HSM Offshore Energy. This strategic acquisition is set to bolster Eiffage's capabilities in the offshore energy market, particularly in EPCIC solutions. HSM Offshore Energy, based in the Rotterdam area, specializes in electrical and mechanical systems for offshore energy projects and explores emerging markets like carbon capture and hydrogen.
Founded in 1914, HSM Offshore Energy employs 140 people and generates revenues close to 300 million euros annually. The acquisition complements Smulders' expertise in large steel construction projects, like offshore wind farm structures. The collaboration aims to enhance efficiency and project delivery for larger offshore projects.
Both companies have previously collaborated on major renewable energy projects off Germany and Belgium's coasts. This move is anticipated to solidify Eiffage Group's position in the expanding European sustainable energy sector. The transaction awaits competition authority approval.
