ElecLink Operations Outage: Investigations Progress
On September 26, ElecLink, the initiative linking France and Great Britain via an electricity interconnector, suspended its operations due to a malfunction. Investigations revealed that the problem was caused by deterioration of the structure supporting the cable on the French side. A repair plan is being drawn up.
The works are expected to last approximately six weeks, with the work scheduled to resume on 16 November. This suspension will have an estimated commercial impact of €46 million, involving loss of turnover and risk of penalties. The resumption date will be confirmed once the plan is finalised.
