The Board of Directors of Électrcité de Strasbourg (ÉS) approved the consolidated accounts for the first half of 2024 at its meeting on July 30. Revenue stood at €762.9 million, down 15.9% compared to the first half of 2023, mainly due to the fall in energy prices in 2023.

Current operating profit reached €106.6 million, up 84.7%, thanks to the growth in volumes sold and positive price effects. The Group's share of net income was €79.3 million, an increase of 148.6% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Furthermore, during the Combined General Meeting of June 28, 2024, ÉS adopted the status of “mission company”, reinforcing its commitment to the energy transition in Alsace. The volumes of electricity distributed fell by 1.8% to 3.2 TWh, due to customers' energy efficiency efforts.

Electricity sales increased by 12.1% to 3.1 TWh, while natural gas sales decreased by 8.6% to 1.6 TWh, mainly due to the climate effect and measures sobriety. Energy services and renewable energy production projects continue their positive momentum.

On the other hand, risks linked to the volatility of energy prices and the recovery of customer debts persist until the end of 2024.
