ElringKlinger to Open New Battery Center in the USA
ElringKlinger AG has announced the opening of a new site in Easley, Pickens County, South Carolina. This facility is aimed at manufacturing battery technology products and evolving into a hub for the American market. CEO Thomas Jessulat highlighted the strategic importance of this move in line with the company's SHAPE30 transformation strategy. He emphasized the potential of the American market for e-mobility applications, supported by the region’s conducive environment for such initiatives.
The new center will initially produce cell contacting systems. Spanning an area of 21,000 m², the site has the potential for future expansions. Full operations are expected to commence by mid-2025. The location of Easley is strategically advantageous, lying between Atlanta and Charlotte, and benefiting from proximity to major automotive hubs and renowned technical universities like Clemson University.
