Enapter AG's Megawatt Electrolyzers Propel Italian 'Hydrogen Valleys' Forward

Berlin, July 23, 2024. Enapter AG has secured two new orders for their AEM Nexus electrolyzers in Italy, totaling 2.5 MW. The company is strengthening its market position in one of Europe’s rapidly expanding hydrogen economies.

Cogne Acciai Speciali SpA has ordered a 1 MW electrolyzer to generate hydrogen for its production processes, aiming to reduce its carbon footprint. The hydrogen will be produced using solar and hydroelectric power at the Cogne plant in the Aosta Valley.

Sangraf International, a subsidiary of Sanergy Group Limited, has ordered two electrolyzers with a total capacity of 1.5 MW. The hydrogen produced will be used in its steel production processes to lower natural gas consumption by 10%.

These projects are part of Italy’s initiative to develop 52 state-subsidized “Hydrogen Valleys.” The Italian government's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) supports these developments with investments totaling EUR 3.6 billion.
