Energiekontor AG Secures Financial Close for Verden Wind Projects

Energiekontor AG has confirmed the financial closure of two significant wind park projects in Verden, Lower Saxony. The projects, Haberloh and Heidkrug, with a combined capacity of 94 megawatts, are set to commence construction following successful permits and participation in the EEG tender.

Eleven Vestas turbines with a capacity of 7.2 megawatts each will be erected at the Haberloh site, along with two for Heidkrug. These are expected to produce 217 gigawatt hours annually, supplying electricity to 66,000 households and reducing CO2 output by 160,000 tonnes yearly.

The projects promise diversified regional income, with benefits including charitable donations, municipal taxes, and direct citizen participation. Environmental measures include new plantings and land restoration to mitigate natural impacts.
