Bremen, 30 September 2024 – Energiekontor AG, a German project developer and operator of wind and solar parks, has launched construction on four new projects. The company has initiated work on three solar parks and one wind project, collectively adding 125 megawatts to its portfolio, which is set to exceed 610 megawatts in the future.
Two solar park projects in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, totaling 113 megawatts, received building permits in 2023 and financial closing in September 2024. These parks will supply Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH with over 120 gigawatt-hours of green electricity annually once commissioned in mid-2026.
The Königsfeld solar park in Baden-Württemberg, with a nominal power of 4.6 megawatts, is slated for commercial operation in early 2025. Additionally, a wind project in Verden, Lower Saxony, with a nominal power of 7.2 megawatts, reached financial closing.
Including these projects, Energiekontor has over 230 megawatts under construction. Recently, it received approval for further wind turbines in Brandenburg, totaling 11 megawatts.
CEO Peter Szabo emphasized the company’s ongoing commitment to expanding its project pipeline and securing high-level building permits, which ensures robust future growth in renewable energy generation.
