ENGIE Secures 250 MW Floating Offshore Wind Project in Mediterranean

ENGIE has been awarded a 250 MW floating offshore wind project named "Eoliennes Flottantes d'Occitanie" (EFLO) in the French Mediterranean Sea. This initiative, part of the AO6 tender by France's Ministry of Industry and Energy, will produce 1 TWh of renewable electricity annually, providing power for approximately 500,000 people.
The project is located off Narbonne's coast and reinforces ENGIE's role in offshore wind energy development in France. The company collaborates with Banque des Territoires for this venture. Catherine MacGregor, ENGIE's CEO, highlighted their expertise in floating offshore wind as a crucial factor in securing this project.
Ocean Winds, a joint venture between ENGIE and EDPR, plays a significant role in the offshore wind sector, with a 18.8 GW portfolio worldwide. Together with Banque des Territoires, they are also developing other offshore projects in France.
