EU Endorses Green Energy Park as 2025 Global Gateway Project

On November 22, 2024, the European Union Council approved 46 Global Gateway flagship projects for 2025, including the Green Energy Park. This project aims to produce renewable hydrogen on a gigawatt scale in Brazil, enhancing industrial value chains. Through the Global Gateway, the EU invests in sustainable projects globally, promoting policy-aligned initiatives without overlaps.

The North-East Brazil Green Energy Parks & Green Shipping Corridors initiative consolidates hydrogen projects for resource efficiency. It supports Brazil's industrial growth and enables Europe to produce competitive green steel and reduce industrial green premiums.

The EU's endorsement strengthens the partnership between Europe and Brazil, promoting economic and energy transitions. The project highlights Europe's strategic interest in connecting global infrastructure investments to sustainable development goals.
