Eurobattery Minerals' Project Not Selected as Strategic Under CRMA
Eurobattery Minerals AB announced that its Hautalampi project in Finland was not listed as a Strategic Project in the EU Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA) first round. The CRMA, passed in May 2024, aims to secure raw material supply chains within Europe. Eurobattery plans to apply again in future rounds.
The first selection round saw about 170 applications, involving strategic minerals such as lithium, cobalt, and nickel. Eurobattery's emphasis on sustainable sourcing for these minerals remains firm despite their project's initial exclusion. CEO Roberto García-Martínez expressed optimism and commitment to refining their application for upcoming opportunities.
