Eurobattery Minerals Submits Environmental Permit Application for Finnish Mine

Eurobattery Minerals AB, a mining firm listed on the Nordic Growth Market and Börse Stuttgart, has officially submitted an environmental permit application for its Hautalampi battery mineral project in Finland. This step is crucial for advancing the company's mining operations in the region, according to CEO Roberto García Martínez.

The permit application encompasses all necessary operations such as underground mining, ore crushing, metal concentrate production, and dealing with mining waste. This is in conformity with the Finnish Environmental Protection Act. Martínez emphasized the project’s potential in bolstering Europe’s self-reliance on responsibly sourced battery minerals like cobalt, nickel, and copper.

Positioned in the historic Outokumpu Mining Camp Area, the Hautalampi project is anticipated to strengthen the EV battery market in Northern Europe. The mine is expected to have a life span of over 12 years with significant annual production targets for cobalt, nickel, and copper concentrates. Eurobattery Minerals aims to conclude the full acquisition of FinnCobalt Oy alongside continuing strategic preparations like off-take and equipment agreements which are integral to their feasibility studies.
