Europlasma: Launch of a Pilot Furnace in China to Treat Fly Ash
Europlasma, a specialist in pollution control and decarbonization, announces the completion of its pilot fly ash vitrification furnace in China. This project is being led by its subsidiary Europlasma Environmental Technology Co. Ltd, in partnership with Hangzhou University. Production will begin on July 21, 2025, testing a unique process capable of neutralizing heavy metals while reducing energy costs.
The company is collaborating with Hangzhou Xiaoshan City Green Energy to consider a 20,000-ton-per-year site. This addresses China's ban on landfilling of REFIOM, offering a new solution for incineration sites. This process could also be applied to REFIDI industrial waste, and testing will continue with asbestos-containing materials. If successful, it would represent a significant advance in the cost-effective management of hazardous waste.
