Eutelsat and Q-KON strengthen connectivity in sub-Saharan Africa
Eutelsat Group and Q-KON have signed a new multi-year agreement to expand low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite connectivity in sub-Saharan Africa. The partnership aims to provide high-speed, low-latency internet services to businesses and communities, particularly in Southern Africa.
The agreement follows the integration of Eutelsat's OneWeb LEO technology into Q-KON's Twoobii Smart Satellite Services offering in 2023. The available satellite capacities will enable the development of Twoobii-LEO and meet the growing demands in this region.
Through this partnership, several essential services such as cloud applications, telemedicine and e-learning will be strengthened for urban and rural populations.
