Eutelsat Group has successfully launched and deployed 20 new satellites into low Earth orbit. This marks a significant addition to the OneWeb constellation. The launch took place on October 19, 2024, using SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The new satellites aim to enhance network strength and provide greater redundancy.

The satellites were built by Airbus U.S. Space & Defense and separated from the launch vehicle in 10 batches. The company confirmed successful signal acquisition from all units. This development follows the first anniversary of Eutelsat's merger with OneWeb, creating a unique GEO-LEO operator.

CEO Eva Berneke expressed satisfaction with the launch and emphasized Eutelsat's commitment to delivering advanced connectivity worldwide. The merger has led to increased demand for multi-orbit services across various sectors.
