Evolve Bank & Trust Reports Data Breach

MEMPHIS, TN / ACCESSWIRE / July 8, 2024 - Evolve Bank & Trust has reported a cybersecurity incident on its website. Evolve is notifying individuals whose personal data was affected. The bank expresses regret for any inconvenience caused. The security of customers', partners', and employees' information remains a priority.

In late May 2024, Evolve detected system malfunctions initially suspected of being hardware failures. Subsequent investigation revealed unauthorized activity. The attack was stopped, and no new unauthorized activity has been noted since May 31, 2024. External specialists have been engaged to investigate and help restore services. Law enforcement has been informed.

Preliminary findings indicate criminals accessed names, Social Security numbers, bank account details, and contact information of personal banking customers and Open Banking partner clients. Employee information was also likely compromised.

Evolve has started to send individual notifications and anticipates further rounds as the investigation continues. Efforts are underway to enhance security protocols and their ability to detect and respond to incidents.
