Ferrell Hospital Partners with CareSimple for Virtual Care in Southern Illinois

Ferrell Hospital and CareSimple have initiated a partnership to deliver advanced virtual care to patients with chronic conditions in Southern Illinois. This collaboration focuses on managing chronic diseases in rural areas where access to healthcare is often limited. Through the use of CareSimple's Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) solution, Ferrell Hospital aims to improve care for patients with heart failure, enhancing post-discharge outcomes and reducing hospital readmissions.

The RPM technology allows patients to use connected monitoring devices at home, enabling Ferrell Hospital's clinical staff to remotely track patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly. The program, supported by a grant from the Delta Regional Authority, also seeks to minimize emergency department visits and hospitalizations among high-need patients.

Jessica Carter, the Director of Nursing at Ferrell Hospital, expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing the potential to manage chronic conditions more effectively and reduce the need for patient hospital visits. The initiative is seen as a key step in bringing innovative care models to residents in regions with limited healthcare access. The program is set to integrate seamlessly with Ferrell Hospital's existing Epic EHR system and is scheduled to launch on April 1st.
