Fire and Explosion Halt Operations at Armacell’s Cheonan Armagel Plant

On September 7, 2024, a severe incident occurred at Armacell's Cheonan Armagel Plant involving a fire followed by an explosion. This series of events caused significant damage to the facility and resulted in a complete halt of operations. The emergency protocols were activated immediately to address the situation.

One operator was seriously injured in the incident and received prompt medical care. He is currently recovering in the hospital. Armacell emphasized their commitment to the safety and well-being of their employees, contractors, and the local community during this challenging time.

An investigation team is already on site to determine the cause of the fire and explosion. Armacell Korea is working closely with the authorities during this process. Despite the temporary shutdown of Armagel operations, the company's elastomeric plant continues to function normally.
