First Mining Adds Second Drill Rig at Duparquet Gold Project
First Mining Gold Corp. has announced new drilling results from the 2024 Phase 3 diamond drilling program at its Duparquet Gold Project in Quebec, Canada. The results define resource expansion opportunities at the Valentre target, where follow-up drilling is occurring. A second drill rig will mobilize in September to test regional exploration targets, advancing recent discoveries at the North Zone, Buzz, and Valentre.
Recent drilling at Valentre returned positive results, including 3.98 g/t Au over 8.70 m and 1.82 g/t Au over 14.35 m, demonstrating encouraging grades and widths. The findings confirm the continuity of mineralization, focusing on expanding resources between the Central Duparquet and Dumico pits.
The Phase 3 drill program, started in April, has completed 5,700 m to date, aimed at testing priority targets for resource expansion. Initial results are from the Valentre area, focusing on mineralization continuity. Additional results are expected from the Buzz Zone and North Zone Expansion areas. Further drilling targets higher-grade zones for resource expansion.
The current follow-up drilling campaign includes 12 more holes to further test strike extension and depth, supporting the characterization of mineralization trends. The recent results enhance the potential for resource growth, making Valentre a priority for exploration optimization and potential extension of open pit and underground resources.
