First Phosphate Corp. benefits from financial support from the MRNF for research in the mining sector

On March 4, 2024, First Phosphate Corp., a company operating in the mining sector, announced that it had received a grant of $315,236 from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests of Quebec (MRNF). This financial assistance is intended for the mineralogical study of the company's apatite, ilmenite and magnetite concentrates as well as the treatment of mining residues for their reuse in the cement industry.

The funding received by First Phosphate is part of a program to support research and innovation in the mining sector. John Passalacqua, CEO of First Phosphate, expresses his gratitude to the MRNF for this support, emphasizing the importance of collaboration with Quebec government organizations and institutions.

First Phosphate aspires to develop a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery valley in Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean, aiming to meet North American demand for active materials for LFP battery cathodes. The company will also participate in the Canada Investment Forum at PDAC 2024 to present its projects.
