First Phosphate Receives Support from MP Mario Simard for its LFP Battery Valley Project in Quebec

First Phosphate Corp. has announced that it has received a letter of support from Mario Simard, Member of Parliament for Jonquière, in support of its project to extract phosphate and produce phosphoric acid for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. This project is in line with efforts towards energy transition in Canada, particularly in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec.

Positioned as a key initiative for energy transition, First Phosphate's project aims to exploit one of the purest phosphate sources in the world. Mr. Simard highlights the project's potential to generate between 1,000 and 10,000 jobs, thus contributing to the diversification of the local economy. LFP batteries, known for their non-toxic properties and fire resistance, would benefit from the extracted phosphate, combining high purity and low environmental impact thanks to the use of hydroelectricity.

First Phosphate relies on over 1,500 square kilometers of land for the development of its project, promising vertical integration from extraction to the supply chain for LFP battery manufacturers. With the support of political figures like Mario Simard, the project represents a significant step towards establishing a sustainable and environmentally friendly industry in Quebec.
