Firstleaf Partners with Saxco to Advance Eco-Friendly Wine Packaging Initiatives

Firstleaf, a leader in the personalized wine sector, has taken a significant step forward in sustainability by partnering with Saxco, a top packaging solutions provider. This strategic move aims to utilize lighter glass and packaging materials to reduce environmental impact, benefiting both the company and the planet. Operating out of Napa Valley, Firstleaf has already made strides in surpassing the Sustainable Winegrowing Program's guidelines by reducing its glass bottle weights to an impressive 395 grams, well below the recommended 420 grams.

Phillip James, Founder and CEO of Firstleaf, emphasized the company's commitment to sustainable practices in all operations aspects, not just packaging. The brand's focus extends to optimizing raw materials, shipping, manufacturing, and recyclability to minimize its environmental footprint. Further strengthening its sustainability efforts, Firstleaf supports Wine To Water (WTW), a partnership that has led to the deployment of 61,300 membrane filters worldwide, significantly reducing the need for plastic bottles.

As the wine industry observes Earth Month, Firstleaf's dedication to sustainability and environmental stewardship is evident through its actions and partnerships. Carolin Meier, Chief Wine Officer at Firstleaf, reiterated the company's mission to lead by example in driving positive change within the wine industry and beyond.
