Forte Minerals Corp Acquires Promising Gold and Copper Prospects in Peru
Forte Minerals Corp announced the completion of the acquisition of the Alto Ruri epithermal gold prospect and the Cerro Quillo porphyry gold-copper-molybdenum prospect located in central Peru. These acquisitions from Globetrotters Resource Group Inc. are part of a strategic move to enhance Forte’s portfolio in a region known for significant mineral deposits. The purchase includes a one-time cash payment of $25,000 to Globetrotters’ subsidiary for a 4700 ha block near Barrick's Pierina Mine, promising a strategic position in a high-value mining jurisdiction.
The Alto Ruri prospect previously explored in 1997, showed promising results with a drill return of 2.55 g/t gold over 131 meters from the surface, indicating potential high sulphidation epithermal gold mineralization. Similarly, the Cerro Quillo prospect explored by Anglo American Exploration Perú S.A. in 2004 revealed significant assay results, including 200 meters of 0.49 g/t gold, highlighting its potential for gold-copper-molybdenum deposits. These results, while historical and unverified by Forte, suggest substantial exploration potential in these areas.
Located just 15 km south of the Pierina Mine, these acquisitions sit in a mineral-rich region historically producing large epithermal gold and porphyry copper-molybdenum deposits. Forte's CEO, Patrick Elliott, expressed optimism about these additions to their asset base, emphasizing the reduced risks and strategic advantage in early exploration stages. Manuel Montoya, Exploration Manager, also remarked on the promising hydrothermal alteration and mineralization zones observed in both prospects.
The transaction between Forte and Globetrotters also highlighted the complex nature of related-party transactions, meeting the exemptions for minority shareholder approval based on its market capitalization criteria. This strategic acquisition underscores Forte’s commitment to exploring and developing high-grade mineral prospects in Peru's prolific mining regions.
