FossID Launches Open Source Insights Amid Evolving M&A Landscape

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN / ACCESSWIRE / August 14, 2024 / FossID, known for its open source software risk management technology, has introduced Open Source Insights. This new service offers a swift and easy-to-execute software risk audit, powered by the FossID Workbench toolset.

The increase in M&A activities has led to a closer examination of deal risks and costs. Acquirers now emphasize both growth and cost savings. These changes have increased the demand for faster, lower-cost, and less disruptive technical due diligence.

Stuart Dross, CEO of FossID, stated, "We're seeing a lot of demand from acquirers and investors for more sophisticated approaches to tech due diligence.” FossID’s new service addresses this market need.

FossID's Open Source Insights, leveraging their blind audit technique, allows for source code analysis without direct code access. This method reduces legal complications and eliminates the need for on-site visits.

The service provides a quick snapshot of OSS-related risks in just one or two business days, helping acquirers decide if a full Open Source Audit is necessary. It is now fully available for clients.
