Fragrance Creators Association Urges Congress to Fund Modernized Cosmetic Regulations
WASHINGTON, DC / ACCESSWIRE / May 20, 2024 / Fragrance Creators Association (FCA) President and CEO Farah K. Ahmed has called on Congress to provide at least $8 million in funding for the FDA to implement the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA) in fiscal year 2025 (FY25).
Ahmed emphasized that MoCRA represents a new era in cosmetic regulations but requires adequate financial support to succeed. The FCA submitted letters urging Congress to prioritize science, safety, and innovation by allocating the necessary $8 million for FY25.
She highlighted the crucial role of fragrance in cosmetics and personal care products, which foster skin health, self-expression, and confidence. Funding for the FDA’s implementation of MoCRA would promote responsible innovation within the fragrance industry, enhance safety, boost consumer confidence, and advance environmental sustainability.
